Ms. Price and Mirabile’s Tetrahedral Kite Project

Students will construct tetrahedral kites in class as we prepare for our study of geometric solids. The kites will take approximately three days to make. Weather permitting, we should be able to fly them during the first week of April.

Ms. Lambert’s Faulty Inference iMovie Project

In groups of two, students created a faulty inference skit that demonstrates
how faulty inferences can impact our daily lives. Once they created a
screenplay and rehearsed it, they filmed it. Then they created an iMovie using their footage and many other extras to create a polished product (music, transitions, etc.). Download the rubric.

Ms. Lewis’ 6th Grade Science Project

The student designed an experiment to test the best way to prevent an apple from turning brown.
The student investigated the nature of the problem and ways to solve the problem. They had to -
• Research and design various methods to solve the problem
• Plan how to conduct the experiment
• Create and conduct the experiment
• Evaluate the results and determine if a solution was reached, explain how the process could be improved as a result of these evaluations
